As one of America's newest national parks it is the least visited which attests to its nearly untouched beauty. And during the summer this lake and river system support an exceptional sport fishery. Lake trout and Dolly Varden inhabit the lake while silver salmon are abundant from mid-summer through fall. The sockeye salmon run into Crescent Lake averages 80,000 fish each July and the silver salmon run is non-stop from mid-August through September.
